Valedictory

Good riddance, Old Year. You were not an
Attractive thing - no, you were rotten;
Though it's easier, true,
To get rid of you
Than all of the worms you've begotten.

    There are two problems with writing end-of-year pieces: firstly (especially after a year like this) where the hell you start; and secondly (espcially after a year like this) where the hell you stop.

    You have, as ever, solved the problem admirably.
